It’s 2025! I’m kicking off the new year with a fun Veganuary event at Binding Agents, a new culinary bookstore off the Italian Market that I just love.
Fran Costigan and I will help you have the most delicious Veganuary ever. We’ll share our best tips, tricks, and cookbook recommendations. This will be especially helpful if you are just dipping a toe in the plant-based waters.
Here’s the ticket link. Join us! There will be snacks.
In the spirit of new year’s energy, I’m going to share five more or less unrelated things from my year-end wrap and reflection project.
Here they are:
Mental chatter and thinking are two different things. This is something my wise husband told me at some point during 2024, and I had the presence of mind to write it down. I could stand to post this over my desk. Or get a tattoo.
Drive more, more confidently. I’ve always been a nervous driver, but the pandemic set me way back. In 2024, I tentatively reclaimed the road. I started picking up my niece from school on the regular and I drove to Ardmore (the suburbs!) and back (in the dark!).
To make money, make magic. Applying all the sales and prospecting best practices and techniques never works for me. But magic does. I’m extremely committed to having a magical 2025.
Resolved: I will consciously support vegan restaurants in 2025. I will choose them over other restaurants. I will be more of a regular.
Like Walt Whitman, I contain multitudes. I can be, and in fact, I am, a food writer/editor, a health writer/editor, and a tarot reader/writer. I tried to “niche down” that doesn’t work for me. It works against me.
What about you? Please share your own year end insights and/or 2025 goals and dreams.
Go, Joy!
I made a pot of red beans and rice on Monday and it occurs to me: that was very vegan of me. But, not on purpose. :-)
Due to an accident many years ago my driving has shrunk to about 30 minutes from my house. I have a fiber and music retreat next month in another state. So I've been stretching my driving distance. Good luck to both of us!
